All licensed child care providers are obligated by law to report any suspected cases of child abuse or neglect. As adult members of society we all have an important responsibility to help protect all children. No matter how close we are to a child’s parent(s) we must first consider the child – for they are virtually incapable of doing anything in an abusive situation to protect themselves, and may depend on our intervention for their safety and well-being. The weight and importance of this responsibility should not be taken lightly by any adult.
